Puppy Birth the natural way is always preferable. However, there are times when even dogs need to have a cesarean. It is important to have regular vet checks while your dog is pregnant in order to monitor the pregnancy's progression, and hopefully avoid any emergencies when your dog goes into labor. Sometimes a vet will know before labor begins that a cesarean will be neccessary.
This dog is having a litter by cesarean. It is a surgical procedure, and consequently, this video shows 'blood and guts' kind of stuff. It is not a great video to watch if you are squeamish.
